Banera Buffer

Banera Gate in the buffer zone of Pench Tiger Reserve (PTR) , Maharashtra , was established in early 2023 .This gate offers jungle safari at Pench with a unique route along the Totladoh dam's backwaters. The purpose of establishing this gate was to access new jungle safari routes , including scenic views of the Toladham dam.

It is characterized by the rich forest patches , visitors can experience the serene atmosphere of the jungle and this safari route connects to ‘Kunwara Bhimsen’. It is the corridor for tigers moving between the core and outer areas of Pench jungle .This zone is excellent for spotting leopards, Indian Gaurs, and Sloth Bears. The landscape of the safari route is a mix of hilly tracks, dense teak forest and open meadows which offers a raw and authentic jungle vibe.

How to reach

Baner gate is located in Nagalwadi Range ,near Maharashtra. It is at a distance of 65km from Nagpur, and the entry gate of the zone is accessible via NH-547 (Nagpur-Saoner-Chhindwara highway).

Safari timing

There are 02 shifts i.e. morning &evening. Morning shifts are from 6:00 am to 10:00 am. Evening safaris are from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Booking details

nationalpark.mahaonline.gov.in is the official site for booking safaris. One has to register on this site & after going to the life section you need to fill in details like name, age, gender, nationality, and photo id proof numbers. For Indian nationals Aadhar card, passport, driving license, voter id etc. are valid. For Non-Indians passport details & country is mandatory. By booking a safari you only secure your seat for safaris. Rest formalities are done on the safari day itself.
