Maharashtra’s Pench
From tourism point of view, the park is divided into 7 zones. Out of them Khursapar, Sillari&Chorbhauli are core area &Surewani ,Kolitmara,Khubala&Pauni are buffer area.
Khursapar is 20 kms from Turia
Sillari is 38 kms from Turia
Chorbhauli is 46 kms from Turia
Stay Facilities
- No Staying facility in cores areas of Maharashtra’s Pench.
- Night Safari: Night safaris are not allowed in Maharashtra’s Pench.
- Private hotels: Mainly hotels are located around Sillari gate.
Opening & closing date of Maharashtra’s Pench & weekly off
This Pench opens from 01st October to 30Th June every year. The park remain closed in monsoon season i.e. July, August & September.
This Pench’s weekly closing system are different. Various zones are closed on different days.
Khursapar Gate:
Closes on Tuesday for Both Safaris morning & afternoon.
Sillari Gate:
Closes on Wednesday for Both Safaris morning & afternoon.
Chorbhauli Gate:
Closes on Monday for Both Safaris morning & afternoon.
Types of safaris in Maharashtra’s Pench.
Only Normal safaris are being permitted in Pench.
Normal Safaris:
Mostly safaris are done by jeep (06-seater) in Pench. There are 02 shifts i.e. morning & afternoon. Morning shifts and evening safaris are of same duration between 03 to 04 hrs.

- Tatkal Safaris:
This quota does not operate in Maharashtra’s Pench. - Premium safaris:
No Full Day & Half Day safaris are allowed in this Pench. - Elephant Safaris:
Elephants safaris are allowed in this part of Pench.
Booking safaris
www.maharsthraecotouirsmonline.com is the official site for booking safaris. One has to register on this site & after going to wild life section you need to fill details like name, age, gender, nationality, and photo id proof numbers. For Indian nationals Aadhar card, passport, driving license, voter id etc. are valid. For Non-Indians passport details & country is mandatory. By booking safari you only secure your seat for safaris. Rest formalities are done on the safari day itself.
Entrance Fee
The Entrance fees are same for Indians & Non-Indians in Maharashtra’s Pench. The fee structure remains same throughout the season.
Note:
- In Pench only Entrance fee & vehicle entry fee is charged in tickets/ permit.
- Guide fee & vehicle fare are to be paid on the safari day.
- You can select zones while you are making online booking. The zones once selected cannot be changed. You have to rebook the permit if you want to change the zone. Your previous amount will go waist.
- All types of safaris are booked through this site only.
Booking Quota
There are 02 quotas for safari bookings.
- Advance quota: In Pench, the safari booking opens 90 days prior to visit. Almost 90 % of tickets / permits are made available in this quota.
- Wait -listed quota: No found this is park.
- Current quota: : As 90% tickets/ permits are made available in advance quota through website only 10% tickets are left for current quota. This quota opens 01:00 hrs prior to each safari shift at the department’s booking centre. Guests has to stand in ques to get tickets.

Turia gate to Karmajhari gate is 20 kms

Types of Safaris booking
There are three (3) types of booking one can available
Normal Safaris
Mostly safaris are done by Gypsy (06-seater) in Pench. Bookings for every next day will be open at 11 A.M in the morning (for online booking).There are 02 shifts i.e. morning &evening. Morning shifts are from 6:00 am to 10:00 am. Evening safaris are from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
Tatkal Safaris
Tatkal permits are available only if any confirmed full vehicle permit get canceled / Re-schedule within 5 days of excursion. Tatkal permits can be booked through website, one day prior to excursion date from 5p.m till safari start time.Permits available at the gate (10% of carrying capacity) can be booked at the entry gate.This quota opens at 05:00 pm for next day morning & afternoon. The costing is slightly higher than normal quota.
Premium safaris
Only Full day safaris are allowed in Pench. These safaris are zone free safaris. You can see all zones in one single day. These safaris are quite expensive. These Full day safaris are allotted by special permission of Field Director.All safaris except Full day safaris, can be booked by official site www.mponline.gov.in
Note
Single seat option is there on website one can choose at the time of booking.Permit's Status shown with "W" on your permit means your permit is under Waiting category which does not means that your Excursion in the park is confirm, its confirmation will depend on the clearance of Waiting list and if your permit Waiting does not get clear before 5 days from your Excursion date your permit will be cancel automatically and your amount will be refunded.
How to Book
One has to register on the website to book a safari and after login you need to select the permit type i.e. full vehicle or single personby selecting date of the safari nowclick the search button beside the date to proceed, here you can select the gates and slot and proceed for the tourist details like name, age, gender, nationality, photo id proof numbers. For Indian nationals Aadhar card, passport, driving license, voter id etc are valid. For Non-Indians passport details & country is mandatory.

Night safari at MP Pench
Night safari is offered on Karmajhiri and Turia gate of Pench National Park in buffer zones.Night safaris offer you a different way to experience the way Jungle feels at night. It offers you to explore the night life of animals and their behavior. Some animals are nocturnal and they are active after dark e.g. Owls, Civets, Hares, Porcupines and if very lucky one can encounter Tigers, Leopard and Sloth Bear. The KumpaniTikari Buffer Zone Night Safari road is of a total of 30kms which goes through hillock and then passes between Core and Buffer zone finally taking you to near Pench River. The timings for night safaris are 6pm to 9pm.
This Pench’s weekly closing system are same for this 3 gates and the remaining gate are open all days in a week.
- Turia Gate: Closes on Wednesday forafternoon safari only.
- Karmajhari Gate: Closes on Wednesday forafternoon safari only.
- Jamtara Gate: Closes on Wednesday forafternoon safari only.

Booking Quota
There are 03 quotas for safari bookings.
- Advance quota: In Pench, the safari booking opens 120 days prior to visit. Almost 90 % of tickets / permits are made available in this quota.
- Wait -listed quota: When in any zone all gypsy are full on website, then you are allowed to book few more tickets.The system indicates the status of the tickets after payment is made.
The waiting tickets are likely get confirmed against other cancelled tickets. This is done 05 days prior to the visit. You will get sms from the department regarding confirmation. If your tickets are not confirmed then your amount will be refunded. - Current quota: : As 90% tickets/ permits are made available in advance quota through website only 10% tickets are left for current quota. This quota opens 01:00 hrs prior to each safari shift at the department’s booking center. Guests has to stand in queue to get tickets.
